Why Is A Psychologist Looking For Transcription Jobs Online?
by: Benny

Hi, your story sounds frighetening. Death threats, och.... please do keep us posted on the results of the investigation of the BBB.

What's odd to me, though, is why would you look for transcription jobs on the net since you're a PhD in Psychology?

Why would'nt you rather do psychology for a living? Just curious...

If I'd have a PhD in psychology, I don't think I'd be looking for transcrpition jobs on the net.

In any case, wishing you success in your investigation of the online typing job business scammers.

About Your Typing Job At Home Application
by: Anonymous

That's scary, actually fairly common on the net. Scores have fallen victim to such typing job and related scams.

Great that you have the BBB investigating it. Too many people have been ripped off by typing jobs scam artists.

In your case, actually, you probably were not ripped off, because your card was *not* charged, your registration did *not* go through. Many others claim to have been misled and befrauded, their money stolen by "typing jobs at home" or similar home jobs offers promising to get rich quickly by doing easy jobs at home.

Why were you getting DEATH THREATS for simply asking for a part time or full time typing job? Sounds a bit funny.

Perhaps the company changed its name, but actually there are a many with similar names offering typing jobs or data entry jobs at home.

Just now I'm looking at a home typing jobs site, promising hundreds of dollars a day in extra money for typing at home, o quit my day job, working for myself as a data entry worker, "work for yourself... whenever you want, wherever you want, as many hours as you want..." and all the familiar stuff.

Some say they'll teach you how to type little ads, entering data, "do it at the comfort of your own home" and "get paid thousands...."

There IS something like this out there, but it's far from being just a typing job or data entry job. It's rather, I believe, what is known as "Affiliate Marketing" and "Pay Per Click" advertising: you craft little ads, advertise an E-book or other product from a company, add a link with your personal code embedded, and when someone clicks on it and gets to the site of the company through your link and buy the E-book or whatever, you get a commission, often a nice, fat commision. But you've got to pay for the search engines for your ad to run (unless you have your own site and are getting a lot of free traffic and clicks on your ad or banner), and IF you get a lot of clicks AND a lot of people follow the link and BUY, AND you pay for all these clicks LESS than you earn from the commissions, then you've made a profit. With the right skills, knowledge and experience, it IS doable, and in fact some people make VERY nice money from these, but there's a huge learning curve and it's not as easy as these typing job from home sites want you to believe, AND it has very little to do with typing skills. (If you do want to learn it and do it with the help of a reliable and reputable source, check out the site of one of THE world experts on it. Here's the link.

One more thing: you mentioned that that company has changed its name to something "Indeed Typing..." I think that it's a mistake. "Indeed" is a popular job search site on the Internet, and there are a lot of companies registered there. You probably was referring to a company offering typing jobs and registered on the Indeed site, so you've got a url containing "indeed" + typing...

Hope this helps a bit....
