That your daughter is a fast typists and types at very fast typing rate makes a lot of sense as she's a girl of today's generation being braught up in the computer era where typing skills is part of life.
Once one aquires natural typing skills it seems there's no end to how fast one can type. Typing speed just keeps getting better the more one keeps typing.
Regarding your question as to how many finger fast typists use to type fast - the answer would be: as many fingers as they can! Thus, they use ALL of their fingers to type fast. They type with 10 fingers and it comes natural to them. Their fingers get used to it, and each "finger" knows automatically its functions and how and when to intervene.
Typing fast is a habit not necessarily of gurus and people with special skills. Everyone can be a fast typist if he or she keeps typing. The more they type the better they'll be at it and the speedier their typing will become.
It is indeed fascinating to watch a good typer typing at almost unbelievable typing speed. You can still learn it for yourself. It may sound impossible at the beginning, but after practicing a bit you'll be surprised at how fast a typist you are.
