Can your typing activity, using your computer, keyboard and mouse, cause the Carpal Tunnel Syndrome?
This is a good question, and if you're practicing typing and keyboarding and moving your mouse around for many hours a day - thi concern is understandable.
There are people suffering CTS (carpal-tunnel-syndrome), experiencing pain, numbness, or even being handicapped as a result of the injury.
Can keyboard typing-practice and using the mouse or doing other keyboarding activity cause CTS?
I don't remember the source, but I do remember having read about a study that found that heavy use of computer (even as much as 7 hours a day) did not increase the risk of CTS, but I think there's info that RSI (repetitive strain injury) *can* be caused from keyboard typing practices. I have to look it up and hope to have more on this soon.
I've read that Carpal Tunnel Syndrome is only one form of the Repetitive Strain Injury. There are many more forms of the disorder.
By the way, some of the good typing tutorial software include not only typing lessons and games but also some basic tips on keyboard typing practice and keyboarding ergonomics.
